Admittedly I know very little of planes, especially military ones. But I live in close proximity (in aviation terms) to Sumter and Charles Towne, so I see various aircraft often.
Can anyone identify what this is? Apologies for the iPotato quality.

C-17...smaller (for a cargo plane), but very high-tech and generally very badass.

That’d be a C-17.

That’s a Boeing C-17. Not quite C-5 big, but very big nonetheless.
For scale, here are a few pics I took of one resting on jack stands while its nose gear is removed.

C17. I’ve spent many a trips on those. The plane can actually backup, which is a feat in itself.
The plane is actually pretty comfortable to ride on.

C-17. I’ve flown one before.
In Arma 3. It was a handful.

I love driving through Sumter for that reason. I’ve lucked out a couple of times when passing the base catch the F16's take off. You can feel the vehicle move sideways. It is an experience.

There’s a bunch of C-17s stationed at the ANG base here in Memphis. We used to have C-5s but they’ve since been replaced by the Globemasters.

Wow I can't imagine being that close. They do touch and go's at Myrtle all the time. Though I can't identify the jets. My house is closeish so I have seen an Osprey from my driveway.

We had a site at the Scotsman at the end of the runway in Myrtle a few months ago. Two F-16's did touch and goes when we were there. It was pretty awesome. You could feel it.

I see them over Central NJ sometimes, they are based out of Joint Base McGuire/Dix/Lakehurst.
